########################################################################################################## # ModE-RAclim - A global monthly paleo-reanalysis to study climate variability during the past 600 years # ########################################################################################################## ModE-RAclim is a monthly 3-dimensional reanalysis products that combines information from ModE-Sim, a large ensemble of simulation with an atmospheric model, with information on historical climate, including early instrumental data, documentary data, and proxy data. Observed anomalies were assimilated with an offline Ensemble Kalman filtering technique (the assimilation was done twice per year reflecting the resolution of the available proxy data). ModE-RAclim is a modified version of ModE-RA, which also can be found within this WDCC project. In contrast to ModE-RA, ModE-RAclim does not use 20 distinct members from the underlying ensemble, but instead 100 randomly picked years from the ensemble as a priori state for improved covariance estimation, however eliminating the externally forced signal in the model simulations.
